Shinsekai eller New World<\/em> byggdes 1912 och skulle vara en futuristisk stadsdel men gl\u00f6mdes snabbt bort efter andra v\u00e4rldskriget. Idag har det ett \u00f6k\u00e4nt f\u00f6rflutet och en kuslig n\u00f6jesparksk\u00e4nsla. Shinsekai har en ruffig, r\u00e5 och en f\u00e4rgstark karakt\u00e4r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paris valdes som modell f\u00f6r Shinsekais norra halva, medan den s\u00f6dra delen byggdes f\u00f6r att imitera Coney Island i New York. Tsutenkaku-tornet<\/b> byggdes 1912 efter Paris Eiffeltorn. \u00c4ven om det skrotades under andra v\u00e4rldskriget, rekonstruerades tornet strax d\u00e4refter 1956. Det nuvarande tornet \u00e4r 103 meter h\u00f6gt, med huvudobservatoriet p\u00e5 en h\u00f6jd av 91 meter. Dessutom erbjuder tornet ett utomhusd\u00e4ck ovanp\u00e5 huvudobservatoriet och en 60 meter l\u00e5ng rutschkana vid tornets bas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shinsekai brukade anses vara en av Osakas sjaskig, mest ”farliga” stadsdelar – \u00e4ven om ”farliga” enligt japanska standarder i allm\u00e4nhet bleknar i j\u00e4mf\u00f6relse med andra liknande stadsdelar i st\u00e4der runt om i v\u00e4rlden.
